I am not currently teaching childbirth education, here’s why.
Birth in western culture is characterized as frightening and painful, where suffering is an inherent part of the birthing process, and women are rarely offered positive visions of what gentle birth could look like. As a result, women and their partners go into birth anticipating and fearing pain, which triggers the tension that generates pain. Birth is a transformative event, and contrary to what our culture teaches, can be experienced without suffering. A gentle birth, regardless of setting, is within your reach.
HypnoBirthing® – The Mongan Method – is a unique method of relaxed, natural childbirth education, enhanced by self-hypnosis techniques. HypnoBirthing® provides the missing link that allows women to use their natural instincts to bring about a safer, easier, more comfortable birth.
The HypnoBirthing® course covers techniques for relaxation and self-hypnosis, childbirth essentials, nutrition, the awareness and experience of your baby, and more. Partners and birthing companions are warmly encouraged to join the mother for the course.
The course consists of five 2.5 hour classes, held over a period of five weeks. Students are provided the book and CD to accompany their learning. To find out more about HypnoBirthing®, check out “Hypnobirthing: Instinctive Birthing Through Relaxation,” Midwifery Today.
